Small Company, Big Needs
When CEO means Chief Everything Officer, let me help.
You didn't sign up to be a people manager. You didn’t sign up to be a ‘Leader’. You signed up to build something. You joined a startup for the passion of the work. And now you're doing it all— figuring out what you need to do and be to be successful, building a team trying to get THEM to see your vision and running the thing — usually without any support or guidance.
I see you. And I've got something for that.
How I think about this work
No matter the audience - Fortune 50 Senior Leader, small business owner, teams - the essence is the same: humans, trying to solve problems, and make something better.
Most of us are on autopilot most of the time — reacting the same way, to the same things, without much thought in it. Having a ‘growth edge’ requires your attention.
The secret: To get different results, you must be and do different things. And this is hard work.
The way out isn't a personality overhaul. It's smaller than that. You’ll find this built into my resources.
Step 1: Notice
Become a ‘Student of You’. Notice who you are, what you do, how you think and react. Don’t fool yourself, this is big work.
Step 2: Consider
Get curious about what you noticed. What was that reaction, thought, the irritation you felt? What’s one thing you wish you could do, think, feel differently about?
Step 3: Experiment
When we’ve landed on a decision of your one thing, work to make a series of small experiments. Change doesn’t happen overnight, and epiphanies are few and far between. Sustainable change happens in small increments.
Step 4: Repeat
Being on your growth edge is more nuanced than you think! Being and becoming the best version of yourself is a quest…not a single event.
Having these on demand resources is new for me (we all have growth edges!). The growing library of resources are intended to positively impact…
You as a business owner and leader
Your team (even if just 2 of you)
Your company
Kind Words.
“Thank you for all the lovely and kind ways you make this a safe and inclusive space…to offer ways for us to grow and develop.”
“I call you when I need to say something important or difficult but I’m not sure of the words.”
Your future self is waiting. Are you ready?
